The Health Education Design Group (HEDG) is part of the Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services, within the College of Health and Behavioral Studies at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. HEDG develops and produces state-of-the-art educational online courses, trainings, and videos for health and human services organizations. Our creative team of writers, eLearning specialists, and filmmakers works with grant sponsors and subject matter experts to turn course information into effective and meaningful online content that to helps advance our partners’ goals.

HEDG begins each project by focusing on the learning objectives. We explore the most innovative and compelling ways to present the material. Our content producers and developers receive source material from subject matter experts, and tailor the presentation specifically for the intended learners. We work hard to ensure that our video productions and online learning modules achieve the highest levels of quality, and meet professional film industry and eLearning standards.

From subject matter experts and content developers to instructional designers and video post-production, each educational module we produce represents the contributions of up to 50 people or more, each one a specialist in their field. HEDG is committed to combining rigorous academic research and best practices with the most current online learning tools and video technology, all aimed at creating educational products with the greatest impact on the intended learners.
